“I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process — an integral function of the universe.”
―Buckminster Fuller
Their goals and objectives are clear and doable. Their communication is good. They’re supportive and empathetic. They each have unique skills and abilities. They’ve got good leadership. Their actions are synchronised, and they hit their marks efficiently. They reward each other for great work. These are some of the characteristics of a great team. Team building games aim to bring out and develop these characteristics in teams, and the best ones are those whose participants go home with a renewed sense of self and community.
At We R One World, we take this to the next level. Our world simulator game is an indoor team building activity where participants take on the roles of world leaders or representatives of international organisations. For one whole day, they are faced with a global problem that they have to solve as one team. There’s none of the usual “to each his own” system in most world simulator games. This time, participants put into action the key to true global equality: collaboration.
With this activity, not only will your participants gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their peers, they will also be able to increase their social awareness. They will discover new tools with which to examine the communities they belong in, both in and out of your organisation. They will have a fuller appreciation of themselves, their unique contribution, and most of all, their purpose.
